Mercedes-Benz V-Class has quickly become a promising model line with the first batch already sold out; bookings to reopen again soon

The three-pointed star luxury car brand, Mercedes-Benz India has achieved a record breaking sales threshold in India in Q2 with 4637 units sold, spearheaded by the newly introduced models such as the CLA Electric sedan alongside the entry-level segment’s steady favourite, GLA SUV both have collectively led to a 30 per cent growth in Q2. The brand sold 9768 units across its Indian range of ICE and EV models in H1 of 2026.

At the other end of the spectrum, the EQS SUV which is priced at ₹1.4 crore (ex-showroom) has emerged as the top-selling EV for the brand and has contributed towards the 25 per cent of high-end sales on the whole in H1 (January to June) 2026. Despite the dominance in the EV segment, the E 450 LWB continues to be the leading luxury car of its kind in India.

The brand has not only captivated the Indian buyers with conventional bodystyles but has managed to create a promising following and market for its newly introduced V-Class luxury MPV – for those who seek uncompromised luxury and privacy wrapped in abundant space. Its first batch is already sold out. Mercedes-Benz says that bookings for the V-Class are about to reopen soon with deliveries taking place in the festive season. Even in the ultra-luxe segment, model lines like the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-AMG and the aforementioned V-Class have recorded a 28 per cent upward move in the sales penetration with over 20 per cent growth in H1 – the brand’s all-time high sales record in India.

Products aside, the brand is also gearing up to set up five luxury dealerships with emphasis on emerging markets such as Varanasi in Q3 of 2026. To mark the occasion, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India had to say on reaching the brand's sales milestone:

“Mercedes-Benz’s strong growth in first half of 2026 underlines the success of our strategy rooted in offering desirable products, elevated customer experience and transforming our network with clear focus on getting closer to customers. The new V-Class and CLA BEV drove our best-ever H1 and Q2 sales, underpinning superior product substance, reconfirming Mercedes customers’ preference for value over entry price points.”

It’s clear that Mercedes-Benz India is the brightest star across several model categories and the same is reflected in the strong brand presence, given the overwhelming and resounding customer response.
