The new Innova Crysta gets an imposing stance than the previous generations but is much safer courtesy seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control(VSC) and Hill Start Assist. Additionally, it gets a segment-first feature of a front clearance sonar with a MID screen, making it easier for the driver to park it in tight spaces and provide a hassle-free driving experience.

On the inside, the Innova Crysta now gets a Smart Playcast touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Even the new Innova Crysta now comes equipped with car connected features like vehicle tracking, geofencing and last parked location. The petrol engine comes mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox producing 164bhp and 245Nm. Meanwhile, the diesel engine gets either a five-speed manual or a six-speed auto ‘box but produces 148bhp and 343Nm in the manual transmission variant and 360Nm of torque in automatic transmission variant.

Naveen Soni, Senior VP, sales and service, TKM, said, “The Innova redefined the segment when it was introduced in India more than 15 years ago as a premium MPV that offers unrivalled comfort, convenience and looks, these skillfully combined with Toyota’s Quality, Durability and Reliability, made it a winner. Over the years, we have strived to make the Innova even better by imbibing the advanced technologies and features and launching improved versions regularly. The new and bolder Innova Crysta continues that legacy in accordance with our tradition of customer-first approach. We are confident that the customers will look forward to the latest avatar of the iconic Innova. The launch is particularly timed for those customers who are seeking unmatched safety and unrivalled comfort during long distances travel with family or on business needs.

He also added “Further, we would like to thank our loyal customers for their relentless trust that has made Innova the best-selling MPV in the country. Innova Crysta continues its unrivalled dominance with 43 per cent of segment share,”.

The Innova Crysta as such has no direct rivals in the segment and has been selling in volumes since its launch in 2016. And, despite a hike of Rs 60-70,000 over the previous-gen model, we expect it will continue to dominate the segment.
