Porsche adds two Panamera GTS models to its family

Porsche has added two exciting new models to its family of luxury sports cars– the Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Tourismo. The new GTS duo fill the gap between the Panamera 4S and the Turbo models and offer impressive levels of equipment including a powerful 4-litre V8 bi-turbo engine, three chamber air suspension and new comfort and assistance systems with various configuration options.

Thanks to the standard Sport Design package, the new Panamera gets plenty of black treatment. The front grille is completely blacked out while the rear bumper too gets black cladding. The 20-inch wheels too come with black alloys while on the inside the cars feature elements of black Alcantara and anodized aluminium. The standard package also includes a multi-function sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles.

Though, what’s going to cheer up enthusiasts is the engine. It’s powered by a 4-litre V8 bi-turbo unit that makes 453.7bhp of power with a maximum torque of 620Nm. That’s 20bhp and a 100Nm more than its predecessor. Power is transmitted to all the four wheels via an eight-speed PDK dual clutch gearbox. The super saloons also come with a standard Sport Chrono Package which also includes a sports exhaust system. Thanks to all this might, the cars accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 4.1 seconds. The Panamera GTS goes on to achieve a top speed of 292kmph while the Sport Tourismo reaches upto 289kmph.

Porsche says the chassis systems have been further enhanced for a more ‘dynamic driving experience’. There’s adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology while the chassis has been lowered by 10mm over the standard Panamera. On the features front too there’s no question that the Panamera GTS packs a lot of kit. In fact the GTS range offers the same tech as the second-gen Panamera models with features like adaptive cruise control, head’s up display and optional rear-axle steering.

Though there’s no word from Porsche if they’ll bring the new models to India. But in the UK pricing starts at £105,963 (Rs 1.01 Cr) for the Panamera GTS, while the Panamera GTS Sport Turismo costs £108,110 (Rs 1.03 Cr).
