Range Rover SV Black unveiled
The Range Rover SV now gets a darker and stealthier avatar

Blacked-out SUVs are clearly in vogue these days, and both Land Rover as well as Range Rover have doubled-down on this trend, with the introduction of their recent models such as the Defender Octa Black and the Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition. The Range Rover SV is the latest SUV to receive what the brand calls the ‘dipped in black’ treatment, and this new model, dubbed the Range Rover SV Black, joins the SV Serenity and the SV Intrepid models as a part of the Range Rover SV model line-up.

The Range Rover SV Black continues to carry forward the same basic design as the standard Range Rover SV, albeit in a darker avatar. The exterior of the SV Black is finished in a Narvik Gloss Black colour scheme, with the grille and the bonnet lettering finished in gloss black. The Land Rover oval on the grille is also finished in a subtle dark gloss shade. The SUV rolls on 23-inch alloy wheels which are finished in gloss black, along with the brake callipers. At the rear, the SUV features a black ceramic SV roundel, and the overall design of the SUV is stealthy, but reeking of opulence at the same time.

To contrast with the gloss black exterior elements, the interior of this SUV features satin black finishes and Near-Aniline Ebony leather upholstery. The Range Rover SV Black also gets single-panel seat covers which consist of fewer stitch lines and seams. The gear selector has been finished in satin black ceramic, while Moonlight Chrome detailing is present around the cabin. For the first time, the Range Rover comes with Body and Soul Seats (BASS) as standard across the Range Rover SV range, along with the world-first Immersive Sensory Floor technology which is also available across the Range Rover SV line-up. Both these technologies aim to take in-car audio and wellness to a new level.

You get transducers embedded in the seats and these are complemented by transducers which are built into the rear and front passenger floor. The transducers create precisely synchronised pulsations in the floor, harmonising the Meridian Signature surround sound system and the haptic seat technology using AI optimising software. The end result is that the occupants of the Range Rover SV Black can feel the music as well as hear it. The Sensory Floor also works with the BASS wellness programmes which are designed to calm and soothe the occupants with one of six modes – ranging from Calm to Invigorating. These wellness programmes are claimed to reduce stress and anxiety of the occupants, while improving concentration and cognitive response.
The Range Rover SV Black will be available to order in late 2025
The Range Rover SV Black is powered by a V8 engine producing 606bhp, and the SUV will be available to order in late 2025. The SV Black can be had in multiple configurations such as the five-seat standard wheelbase, and the four or five-seat long wheelbase versions. This SUV will be previewed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK from July 10 to July 13, alongside the newly-announced Range Rover Sport SV Black.
