Honda has launched the 2018 Amaze at Rs 5.59 lakh for the base petrol variant while the top-of-the-line diesel CVT variant goes all the way up to Rs 8.99 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, pan-India. Both petrol and diesel motors get the option of CVT in the new Honda Amaze. The car was first unveiled at the Auto Expo earlier this year.

Under the skin of the second gen Honda Amaze

The front facia, side profile and the rear design are a massive departure from the first gen model and that is what you will notice immediately after a glance at the second generation Honda Amaze. Honda has introduced its ‘Solid Wing Face’ design in the Amaze, which aligns the Amaze’s new identity with Honda’s global portfolio. The Amaze is built on an all-new platform and the car is now 65mm longer than the outgoing model. It has a wheelbase of 2470mm and it’s the second longest after the Ford Figo Aspire’s 2491mm. Honda has made use of high tensile steel also means that it’s lighter than before, more rigid and offers better crash protection. Under the hood, the engines are the same but Honda has tinkered around with the diesel motor giving it redesigned pistons, engine block, oil pump and chain system to improve fuel efficiency. The engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the diesel gets a CVT, which is a first for a Honda, again.
