Geneva Motor Show: Tata Motors showcases the H2X concept

Tata Motors is celebrating its 21st year at the Geneva Motor Show and to mark the occasion, it had some new cars to present to the crowd gathered at the event. While we all knew that the Altroz was set to make its debut at Geneva, there were a couple of other cars too – the H2X and the Buzzard concepts.

The H2X concept

The showstopper was the H2X concept, a sub-compact SUV. The H2X will also be based on the ALFA architecture and will sport the Impact 2.0 design language. Not much is known about other details of the H2X concept. The car will also be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi. The sub-compact SUV will be sold alongside the Nexon, when it makes its debut here.

Tata Altroz

The Altroz moniker was inspired from the majestic Albatross bird, said Tata in its press release. The Altroz was presented in two forms – the EV and the conventional IC engine version. Based on the company’s all-new Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture, it is the second vehicle from Tata’s stable to sport the Impact 2.0 design language. Tata says that the new light weight platform allows the manufacturing of multiple body styles with a choice of powertrains including gasoline, diesel or full electric, as per the need.  Expect class-leading connectivity and thrilling performance, says the company. Tata plans to launch the car in mid-2019. The concept car is also equipped with a floating touch screen infotainment system dominating the centre console.

The Buzzard Sport

Say hello to the 7-seater version of the Harrier. It is likely to be equipped with a more powerful  2-litre Multijet II diesel engine from Fiat, that develops 170bhp and will get the 6-speed automatic transmission. At the moment, there isn’t much info on these vehicles and we will update as and when we get. Watch this space for updates.
