Triumph Scrambler 400X launched at Rs 2.63 lakh

The bookings of the Triumph Scrambler 400X are open at a token amount of Rs 10,000

Triumph has launched the Scrambler 400X at an introductory price of Rs 2.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Triumph Scrambler 400X debuted earlier this year alongside the Triumph Speed 400, promising off-roading finesse while packing the same 398cc engine.

Triumph Scrambler 400X design

In terms of its style, the Triumph Scrambler 400X presents a fresh look while sharing some design elements with the Speed 400. It features rounded side panels, a split-style seat layout, a headlight grille, all-terrain tyres, and a new design for the exhaust system. The motorcycle includes wide handlebars and knuckle guards. Furthermore, it incorporates additional features such as a mesh headlight guard and knuckle guards. In terms of its dimensions, the Scrambler 400X has a slightly longer wheelbase compared to the Speed 400, measuring 1418mm. There's also a distinction in seat height, with the Scrambler 400X having a seat height of 835mm, making it 35mm taller than the Speed 400. The Triumph Scrambler 400X is available in green/white, red/black, and black/silver colour schemes.

The tyres on the Triumph Scrambler 400X are different from those on the Speed 400. It has 100/90-19 section front and 140/80-17 section rear shod in dual purpose tyres. Triumph has equipped the Scrambler 400X with 43mm USD front forks and a rear monoshock with 150mm travel. Furthermore, the Scrambler 400X's braking system differs slightly from that of the Speed 400. The front brake disc is larger, measuring 320mm, while the rear disc measures 230mm. Dual-channel ABS is standard, and on the Scrambler 400X, Triumph allows the rider to turn off the rear ABS.

The Triumph Scrambler 400X is powered by the same engine that does duties on the Speed 400, which is a liquid-cooled 398cc DOHC single-cylinder engine that produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch and also gets a ride-by-wire system.

Regarding features, the Triumph Scrambler 400X comes with a comprehensive set of standard offerings. Full-LED lighting, ride-by-wire technology, switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS, an immobiliser, an assist clutch, a USB-C charging port, and a semi-digital instrument cluster are among them. The instrument cluster includes a digital-analog screen that displays information such as a fuel gauge metre, a digital tachometer, a gear position indicator, trip data, and more. Furthermore, the Triumph Scrambler 400X comes with over 25 accessories that cater to various aspects, ranging from comfort and style to luggage and security.

The Triumph Scrambler 400X is priced at Rs 2.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) upon its launch. In comparison, the Triumph Speed 400 had an initial launch price of Rs 2.33 lakh. The bookings for the Triumph Scrambler 400X are open at a token amount of Rs 10,000.
