Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the 2025 Honda CB650R and the Honda CBR650R in India, with both these middle-weight 650cc motorcycles being equipped with Honda’s E-Clutch technology. Prices for the CB560R and the CBR650R with the E-Clutch start from ₹9.6 lakh and ₹10.4 lakh, respectively, and here’s what they get.

Honda developed the E-Clutch system for motorcycles in November 2023

Honda E-clutch system

Honda developed the E-Clutch system for motorcycles in November 2023 and this system enables smooth starting and gearshifts without the rider needing to operate the clutch lever. The CB650R and the CBR650R are the first motorcycles in India to be equipped with Honda’s E-Clutch technology, and the company claims that the system is designed to cater to both relaxed and spirited riding styles, while also enhancing rider comfort and reducing fatigue.

The CB650R employs the brand’s ‘Neo Sports Cafe’ design language

The CB650R employs the brand’s ‘Neo Sports Cafe’ design language and it features a round all-LED headlamp, a sculpted fuel tank and exposed steel frame. The motorcycle is available in two colour options - Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. Powering the motorcycle is a 649cc liquid-cooled in-line four-cylinder engine that produces 94bhp of maximum power and 63Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and Honda’s E-Clutch technology. In terms of the suspension, the CB650R gets Showa’s 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) inverted front forks at the front and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload. Meanwhile, the braking duties are handled by dual radial-mounted 310mm floating discs at the front and a 240mm single disc at the rear. The motorcycle also gets dual-channel ABS. In terms of equipment, you get a 5-inch full-colour TFT display that displays ride information and supports smartphone connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app.

The CBR650R is the sportier model of the two motorcycles

Like the name might suggest, the CBR650R is the sportier model of the two motorcycles, with aggressive lines, an aerodynamically-designed fairing and a hunched-forward stance. The CBR650R can be had with two colour options – Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic. Mechanically however, the CBR650R is identical to the CB650R, being powered by the same 649cc engine which delivers identical power and torque outputs – 94bhp and 63Nm. Like the CB650R, you continue to get a six-speed gearbox with Honda’s E-Clutch tech on the CBR650R. Like the naked, the CBR650R is also equipped with the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system. Meanwhile, the suspension and braking hardware of the CBR650R continues to remain identical to that of the CB650R, and so does the 5-inch full-colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity.
