The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT join the sports standard Suzuki range, will it come to India?
Suzuki has unveiled its new sports standard models, the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT, featuring a retro-inspired design, complemented by an old-school riding feel with modern reliability and performance.
Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT styling and design
The GSX-8T carries a naked sport build, a nod to the classic Suzuki T500, also known as the Titan, an iconic high-performance naked bike from the ’60s. Whereas, the GSX-8TT gets embellishments such as a mini-fairing, a squared-off headlight cowl and under cowl inspired by Suzukis of old like the GS1000 AMA race motorcycle from the late ’70s and early ’80s. Both bikes get round bar-end mirrors. They have a generous ground clearance of 145mm. The GSX-8T gets two paint schemes — 'Candy Burnt Gold' and 'Metallic Matte Black'. The GSX-8TT also gets two paint options — 'Glass Sparkle Black' and 'Pearl Matte Shadow Green'.
Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT engine, transmission and suspension
These bikes are powered by a 776cc parallel twin, liquid-cooled DOHC engine mated to a six-speed transmission, shared with the GSX-8R makes 81.8bhp at 8500rpm and 78Nm of torque at 6800rpm. The engine also features a 270-degree crankshaft configuration that emulates Suzuki’s V-twin engine’s feel and feedback. The bikes get a 16-litre fuel tank. Suspension-wise, they have KYB inverted front forks with KYB adjustable link-type rear suspension and a lightweight aluminium swingarm.

There’s a Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) as well as Suzuki’s bi-directional quick shift system (switchable). The bikes are Euro 5+ emissions compliant which is achieved by a dual-stage catalytic converter that’s been neatly incorporated within a short exhaust. The bikes come equipped with Suzuki’s ride-by-wire electronic throttle control system as well as a drive mode selector. They get a 5-inch colour TFT LCD instrument panel along with USB type-C port with fast charging. Additionally, they get Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) (switchable) with three mode settings, ABS, Suzuki easy start system, Suzuki’s low RPM assist for smoother engine idle speed and dual radial mount front disc brake calipers with 310mm rotors. The GSX-8T and GSX-TT get 17-inch wheels shod in Dunlop SPORTMAX Roadsport 2 tyres. The tapered aluminium handlebars ensure an upright riding position.
These new sports naked bikes from Suzuki have been introduced in the US market. However, there’s no information on whether these bikes will arrive in India or not. Sure, we would love to have these potent and handsome bikes in India, here’s hoping that Suzuki crosses that bridge in the near future.
