Kia has announced the prices of the Kia Carens Clavis, which start from ₹11.49 lakh for the entry-level variant, going all the way up to ₹21.49 lakh for the top-spec variant. The Carens Clavis features updated styling and more features compared to the Kia Carens that it is based on, and both these MPVs will be sold alongside each other.

The Carens Clavis features design tweaks when compared to the ‘regular’ Carens, featuring elements like a revised front end design that includes new LED headlamps with LED DRLs. You also get connected LED tail lamps and 17-inch crystal-cut dual-tone alloy wheels on the top-spec variants of the Carens Clavis. In addition to this, the Clavis features skid plates at the front and rear with a satin chrome finish, metal-painted side door garnish inserts and a new Ivory Silver Gloss paint scheme – but for the most part, the basic design of the Carens Clavis is identical to that of the Kia Carens.

Step inside and the interior of Carens Clavis and you are greeted by a lot more tech. You get a slab of digital real estate on the dashboard which consists of two 12.3-inch screens – one for the infotainment and one for the digital instrument cluster. You also get 64-colour ambient lighting, an air purifier and a panoramic sunroof. The driver’s seat of the Carens Clavis can be electrically adjusted while both the front seats are ventilated. Also present is a Bose 8-speaker sound system. The Carens Clavis can be had both in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations and the second row of seats get a one-touch electric tumble function to allow for easier access to the third row. You also get a Boss mode function to liberate more space in the second row by moving the front passenger seat forward. In terms of safety, you get Level 2 ADAS with 20 autonomous safety features on the Carens Clavis, along with 6 airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, DBC (Downhill Brake Control) and TPMS.

Powering the Carens Clavis are three engine options – two petrols and one diesel. These include a 1.5-litre nat-asp and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, along with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Each of these engines can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. The turbo-petrol can also be mated to a 6-speed iMT.

The Carens Clavis will be sold alongside the Kia Carens, with the latter being offered in just a single trim with a 7-seater configuration. The Carens Clavis on the other hand is offered in seven variants with both 6 and 7-seater configurations, and prices for the Clavis range from ₹11.49 lakh for the base variant to ₹21.49 lakh for the top-spec diesel automatic.
