The 2022 Kia Sonet and Seltos get additional equipment, new paint schemes, and more

Kia India entered the Indian market with the Seltos back in 2019, which has been a runaway success. The Sonet too has been immensely successful for the Korean car maker, and now it has launched facelifted versions of both its SUVs. While the 2022 Kia Sonet can be had from Rs 7.15 lakh onwards, prices for the 2022 Kia Seltos start at Rs 10.19 lakh.

What’s new on the 2022 Kia Sonet and Seltos?

Design-wise, there’s not much difference between the facelifted SUVs and their outgoing models, save for some tweaks to the tailgate and the scuff plate, along with the addition of new colour schemes, namely Imperial Blue and Sparkling Silver. The Seltos adds dual-tone paint themes into its features list as well. The same set of powertrains and transmissions have been retained, but the iMT can now be had with the 1.5-litre diesel engine, which, by the way, also gets a new HTX trim in automatic configuration.

The equipment list is where things have considerably changed, with the Seltos now receiving paddle shifters, drive modes and traction modes. In terms of safety, the 2022 Kia Seltos receives four airbags as standard in the low-end variant, along with electronic stability control, hill assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and brake assist among others.

The Sonet receives the same set of colour schemes as the new Seltos, except for the dual-tone options. It also receives an identical set of upgrades in terms of safety and equipment. Like the Seltos, the Sonet diesel too gets the option of an iMT transmission.

Prices of the 2022 Kia Sonet range from Rs 7.15 lakh to Rs 13.69 lakh, and it competes against the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the Hyundai Venue.

Meanwhile the Seltos can be had from Rs 10.19 lakh to Rs 18.45 lakh, going up against the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Harrier, and the MG Hector.
