In the wake of rising safety norms, Maruti Suzuki has given the S-Presso a bunch of safety features, aiming to give its mini-SUV an edge over rivals like the Renault Kwid. With prices starting from Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is now Rs 27,000 more expensive than the outgoing car.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso receives the same K10C 1-litre petrol powertrain that performs its duties in the new Celerio, which is available with five-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Power and torque have gone down by a meagre 1.3bhp and 1Nm of torque, as the 2022 S-Presso now puts out 65.7bhp and 89Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki claims increased fuel efficiency figures of 17 per cent and 14 per cent on the automatic and manual variant respectively. Does that affect the real-world driving experience? We’ll have to wait and find out.
