2022 Toyota Glanza launched at Rs 6.39 lakh

The new Glanza gets a fresh face among other styling tweaks, a major interior overhaul and some new features as well

Toyota has taken the wraps off the facelifted Glanza and launched it at an introductory price of Rs 6.39 lakh, ex-showroom. Based on the new Baleno, the 2022 Toyota Glanza gets revised styling, a more powerful engine, a new 5-speed AMT, and a lot more tech than before. It goes up against the Hyundai i20, the Tata Altroz and the Honda Jazz. Let's find out what differentiates it from its brother from another mother — the Baleno.

2022 Toyota Glanza styling

It doesn't come as a surprise that the new Glanza has styling similar to the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno. It's a rebadged Baleno afterall. But unlike earlier, this time around you can actually differentiate between the two models. Toyota has made sure the Glanza has its own character and given it a few touches here and there.

It has all the revisions Maruti Suzuki has made to the Baleno, but with little touches bespoke to itself. The tweaked headlights and tail lights for example, get a J-style LED signature in the Glanza, unlike the three-element DRLs on the Baleno. It gets a revised grille at the front too, but there's more chrome and two horizontal slats, unlike the Baleno's honeycomb pattern. The biggest change to the Glanza's face though, is the more aggressive front bumper that surely makes it more head-turning. The overall proportions and silhouette of the two though are unchanged.

The Glanza comes available in 5 shades - Sporting Red, Gaming Grey, Enticing Silver, Insta Blue and Cafe White

2022 Toyota Glanza Interior

Yep, it's the same case on the inside too, save for the Toyota badge on the steering wheel, the Glanza's interior and its overall layout is identical to the new Baleno's.

There's a new two-tone dashboard with a swoopier design and a bigger 9-inch infotainment touchscreen. The infotainment system system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and it also gets a voice assistant that can recognise your commands. The Glanza also gets a 360-degree, voice recognition and just like the Baleno a heads-up display. And if you belong to the kind who like to be driven in, the Glanza features AC vents at the rear along with fast charging USB ports. Toyota has also given the Glanza it's very own 'i-Connect' connected car tech, that makes it possible to locate your car, lock/unlock it, or even check the service reminders.

On the safety front, the Glanza gets no less than 6 airbags, ABS and EBD. There's also hill hold assist and ESP on offer if you choose the AMT-equipped Glanza.
