2022 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V launched, prices start at Rs 1.33 lakh
TVS Motor Company has given a subtle update to the Apache RTR 200 4V to keep it fresh for the model year 2022. In the facelift, it receives a new headlight that we have already seen on the recently-launched Apache RTR 160 4V.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Design
The Apache RTR 200 retains the design of the current model and gets a new headlight. The headlamp unit now has the bisecting LED daytime running light separating the high and low beams. We have seen this headlamp unit on the recently launched RTR 160 4V, which also celebrated the 4 lakh unit sale milestone. It is available in three colour options — Gloss Black, Pearl White and Pearl Blue.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Engine
The power unit of the 2022 RTR 200 4V is retained and is in the same tune even. Meaning, the 197.5cc, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine with outputs of 20.5bhp at 9000rpm and 17.2Nm at 7700rpm will continue to serve the facelifted RTR 200. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and has three riding modes — Sport, Urban, and Rain.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Chassis
The underpinnings also see no changes in the update. The RTR 200 4V has Showa suspension units front and back with pre-load adjustablity. One noteworthy mention is that there is no other motorcycle in this segment that provides an option of adjusting the pre-load of the front forks. Braking duties are handled by 270mm and 240mm petal discs at the front and rear respectively with optional dual-channel ABS whereas, single-channel ABS is standard on the Apache 200 4V.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Features
We know TVS has a reputation for providing high-end features on more accessible road bikes and even scooters. With features like three riding modes, slipper clutch, adjustable levers and adjustable front suspension, the RTR 200 4V is already ahead of its competition. And the cherry on the cake is TVS’ SmartXonnect which enables more features on the negatively lit TFT screen like turn-by-turn navigation, telephony, crash alert, and race telemetry. The race telemetry mentioned here provides a number of race parameters and related data on your smartphone.
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Price and Rivals
The prices for the RTR 200 4V starts at Rs 1.33 lakh for the single-channel ABS variant while the bike with the dual-channel ABS will set you back by Rs 1.38 lakh ex-showroom. Currently, the Apache RTR 200 4V rivals the Pulsar NS 200, which has more power but is trailing behind the Apache in terms of features.
