The styling of the BGauss BG D15 is a mix between a modern retro-styled scooter, and step-thru scooterettes from long ago, such as the Bajaj M80 and the then-Hero Honda Street. The round headlight contributes to the retro feeling, while the moped-like styling of the front and side panels, aided by the 16-inch wheels will certainly raise some amount of interest and curiosity, although we’ll reserve final judgment for a review. BGauss is offering five colour options with the BG D15, which you can check out by clicking below.

BGauss BG D15: What’s under the skin?

The BGauss BG D15 is underpinned by a tubular chassis, which hangs off of telescopic forks up front and coil spring twin shock absorbers at the rear.

Powering the BGD15 is a hub-mounted electric motor which produces 4.1bhp and 110Nm of peak power and torque, and is backed by a 3.2kWh removable battery pack with an ARAI-claimed range of 115km. The battery can be charged via a unspecified primary charger which takes 5 hours and 30 minutes for a 0-100 per cent charge. This can be brought down to 2 hours and 30 minutes with a wallbox charger, while a portable fast charger will take 1 hour and 30 minutes for the same. There are two riding modes on offer — Sports and Eco, which alter the characteristics of the scooter, such as top speed and acceleration.

BGauss BG D15 Equipment on offer

The D15 Pro variant offers the most equipment as standard, with features such as a digital instrument cluster, keyless ignition, mobile charging USB port, calls and notification alerts, along with bluetooth connectivity, eSIM, vehicle health reports, remote starting, vehicle theft alerts, rollover alerts, low battery warning, and vehicle finder among others.

BGauss BG D15 Price and Variant

The two variants of the BG D15 are priced at Rs 99,999 and Rs 1.14 lakh respectively, placing it in the ballpark of rivals such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450X, and the Ola S1.
