Ducati Multistrada V2 lineup launched, prices start from Rs 14.65 lakh

The Multistrada V2 replaces the 950 S in Ducati India’s lineup

The Ducati Multistrada V2 lineup was unveiled globally last year at the Ducati World Premiere, and after eight months of waiting, it has finally reached Indian shores. The Multistrada V2 replaces the 950 S in Ducati India’s lineup, and oversees a host of improvements to make it a better motorcycle. Prices for the Multistrada V2 begin from Rs 14.65 lakh, while the V2 S can be had from between Rs 16.65 lakh to Rs 16.84 lakh, depending on the selected paint scheme.

The Multistrada V2 retains the same silhouette and is instantly recognisable as a Ducati adventure tourer. It gets two paint schemes on offer — the standard Ducati Red with black wheels, and a new Street Grey livery with GP Red wheels which is exclusive to the V2 S. The ergonomics have also been tweaked to make the motorcycle a little more easy to ride — the seat height has been reduced to 830mm, which is 10mm less than on the outgoing 950 S, along with the V4-derived footpegs which have been placed 10mm lower. The kerb weight of the motorcycle stands at 222kg (V2 S weighs 225kg), and it makes use of several lightweight materials as well.

Ducati Multistrada V2 Powertrain and Chassis

Powering the Multistrada V2 is the same 937cc Testastretta L-twin engine, which puts out 111bhp at 9000rpm and 94Nm of torque at 6750rpm. Ducati says it has made improvements to the clutch and the transmission, a six-speed unit, with a quickshifter standard on the V2 S.

Underpinned by a tubular steel trellis frame, the V2 uses 48mm USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, both with full adjustability. The V2 S goes one step further and gets the semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evo. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup has been retained, while suspension travel stands at 170mm on both ends.

The braking setup is common across the V2 lineup, making use of 320mm twin discs with radially-mounted Brembo M4.32 Monobloc four-piston calipers at the front, and a 265mm disc with a floating dual-piston caliper at the rear.

The Multistrada V2 receives a bunch of equipment as standard, such as four riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, traction control, vehicle hold control, self-cancelling turn indicators, a digital LCD instrument cluster, an anti-theft system, and Ducati’s brake lighting system which enables the tail lamp to start flashing in case of hard braking to warn the traffic behind. The V2 S additionally receives a quickshifter, a 5-inch TFT display unit, cruise control, heated grips, illuminated switches, cornering headlamps, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system. Ducati will also be offering an accessories suite to further kit up your motorcycle.
