BS6 Ford Figo, Aspire and Freestyle launched
The American car manufacturer Ford now part of the Mahindra group in India has not performed too well in terms of sales numbers in recent few years. Now with these new upgrades to its products portfolio before the BS6 norms come into effect Ford will look to achieve better sales figures . The all-new EcoSport BS6 was introduced earlier this year and now they have rolled out the BS6 upgrades to the Figo, Aspire and Freestyle models as well.
What New?
The new Figo, Aspire and the Freestyle comes with a few distinguishable changes, like a new set of four-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels, a reverse camera, rear defogger and wiper, front fog lamps. The touchscreen SYNC 3 infotainment system also gets replaced by The Fly Audio System which enables smartphone connectivity with the introduction of a new feature like FordPASS. Additional features like the keyless entry, automatic headlights and wipers, a touchscreen infotainment system with an on-board navigation system. Except for the fact that the Figo will not have the automatic climate control system. All the three cars were derived from Ford’s B562 platform and come in both petrol and diesel variants where there is a marginal reduce in the petrol output i.e from 96bhp and 120Nm to 96hp and 119Nm of torque and outputs of a diesel engine remain the same. The petrol and diesel engines would still be available as 5-speed manual transmissions as there is no word yet of Ford offering an Auto-transmission anytime soon. Ford will offer 3-year/1 lakh kilometre warranty as standard on all the three models.
Apart from these changes the Figo and Freestyle have gotten a revision in their prices whereas the Aspires prices remain unchanged. The revised prices of the Figo starts from INR 539,000 while the Freestyle being introduced with a starting price of INR 589,000.
Both the Figo and Aspire compete against the likes of the Tata Tigor, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura that already have a strong presence in the market.
