The Jeep Compass Night Eagle receives dark treatment on its exteriors and interiors, along with a bunch of equipment

After the Trailhawk, Jeep India has added another new variant to the Compass lineup. The Jeep Compass Night Eagle variant has been launched, with prices starting from Rs 21.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Night Eagle variant isn’t just a mere cosmetic upgrade, but it offers more equipment lower down the lineup and slots in between the base Sport and Longitude variants, making the Compass a more value-for-money product.

What’s new in the Jeep Compass Night Eagle variant?

To start with, the exterior elements on the Compass Night Eagle such as the grille, roof rails, window surrounds, alloy wheels, and ORVMs receive gloss black finish. This variant also receives 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels over the 17-inch alloys on the Longitude variant and the base Sport variant. The dark theme continues on the interiors, receiving a Piano Black trim, along with seats upholstered in black cloth / vinyl with tungsten stitching, and black vinyl inserts on the door trims.

In terms of the equipment, the Night Eagle receives a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Uconnect software, a 7-inch instrument cluster, a six-speaker sound system, automatic headlamps, and dual-zone climate control over the lower variants. Safety features such as hill-start assist, stability control, traction control, electronic parking brake, and reverse parking camera among others remain standard across the Compass lineup.

The Night Eagle can be had in both petrol and diesel guise — the same 2-litre turbo-diesel which produces 167bhp and 250Nm of torque and paired to a six-speed manual transmission. The other is the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol powertrain which produces 163bhp and 250Nm of torque, paired to a seven-speed DCT transmission. The Night Eagle does not receive 4x4, and misses out on the 9-speed automatic transmission seen on higher variants.
