After the irresistible 992-gen 911 GT3 that made its way here not too long ago, Porsche has launched the Platinum Edition of the Cayenne at a starting price of Rs 1.47 crore. The Cayenne Platinum Edition is a special edition of the SUV which receives Satin Platinum finishes on the exteriors, aluminium inserts on the interiors, and some additional kit.

Interestingly, the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition makes its way here quite soon after it was unveiled in global markets. The Cayenne Platinum Edition will be offered in four variants — the standard Cayenne Platinum Edition, the Cayenne E-Hybrid Platinum Edition, the Cayenne Coupe Platinum Edition, and the Cayenne Coupe E-Hybrid Platinum Edition. Rivals of the Porsche Cayenne include the likes of the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Range Rover Sport, and the Audi Q8.

What’s new in the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition?

The Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition receives a Satin Platinum paint finish on certain exterior elements such as the air intake slats at the front, on the badges, and the Porsche lettering in the LED tail light strip as well. The Sport exhaust pipes and window surrounds are finished in black, and it also gets 21-inch RS Spyder Design alloy wheels, which are again finished in a shade of platinum. The Platinum Edition Cayenne also gives you five metallic paint finishes to choose from — Jet Black, Carrara White, Mahogany, Moonlight Blue and a special Crayon, in addition to the solid black and white.T

Moving to the interiors, it receives brushed aluminium door sills, seatbelts finished in a shade of crayon, aluminium inserts on the interiors, analogue clock, and the Porsche logo that’s embossed on the front and rear headrests.

In terms of equipment, the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition receives kit such as a Bose surround-sound system, ambient lighting, eight-step adjustable leather sports seats, panoramic sunroof, and Porsche Dynamic Light System among others.

Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition Powertrain

The Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition will be offered with a conventional ICE powertrain as well as a hybrid option. It gets a 3-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine which produces 335bhp and 450Nm of torque. Meanwhile the E-Hybrid variant adds a 100kW electric motor to the V6 engine, as a result of which, the output figures go up to 455bhp and 700Nm of torque in the E-Hybrid. These powertrains are paired to an 8-speed Steptronic S transmission.

The Porsche Cayenne Platinum will be offered in the SUV guise as well as the Coupe guise, and it gets four different variants. Prices for all the four variants are as listed below:

Cayenne Platinum Edition: ₹1.47 crore (Rs 21 lakh over the standard Cayenne SUV)

Cayenne E-Hybrid Platinum Edition: ₹1.88 crore (Rs 18 lakh more than the standard Cayenne E-Hybrid)

Cayenne Coupe Platinum Edition: ₹1.47 crore (Rs 13 lakh more than the standard Cayenne Coupe)

Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe Platinum Edition: ₹1.88 crore
