TVS Racing had been gearing up for a big announcement on its social media handles for quite some time, and we were left wondering what could the announcement be. The answer is now finally in front of us, with TVS Racing entering a long-term partnership with Petronas Lubricants International, as a result of which the factory racing team has rebranded itself and will now be known as Petronas TVS Racing.

The Petronas TVS Racing team sports a new livery, and will be participating in races in road-racing, supercross, and rally formats, which includes the likes of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC), Indian National Supercross Championship (INSC), and the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC). The TVS Racing One Make championships for this year include the TVS OMC RR 310, TVS OMC Rookie, TVS OMC Women’s, and the TVS OMC Young Media Racer Programme. Petronas TVS Racing also displayed their race machines that now sport a new Petronas TVS Racing livery.

TVS Racing benefits from this partnership as Petronas will be supplying its high-spec Sprinta engine oil to its racing teams, and a global presence like Petronas could further garner interest in the Indian motorsport scene. This partnership also benefits the road users, as both firms have jointly developed a race-grade engine oil for TVS’ road-spec motorcycles — the Petronas TVS TRU4 engine oil which will be available pan-India w.e.f May 2022.

Amongst the examples of a significant portfolio, enhancements include supplying LPG through IndianOil Petronas Pvt. Ltd. (IPPL), provision of rooftop solar panels via AmPlus Energy. Today, we seal a stronger partnership with one of India’s most respected OEM, TVS Motor Company, with the Petronas TVS Racing Team launch. Petronas lubricants have a solid track record in global motorsport events, and we are proud to support TVS Racing’s ambitions.”

The racers lineup for the 2022 Indian Supercross Championship has been revealed — in the Group A Category you have Rugved Barguje, Ikshan, and CD Jinan, while the Group B Category of riders includes Kali Mohan, Imran Pasha, Sachin D, Nataraj R, and Banteliang.

Petronas TVS Racing also revealed its 2022 INMRC racer lineup — the pro stock 165cc category and the 300cc-400cc category lineup include Jagan Kumar, KY Ahmed, and Deepak Ravikumar.

TVS has a rich heritage in the Indian motorsport scene, and the partnership with Petronas is sure to uplift the Indian motorsport scene to new heights.
