AMG GT 63 and Porsche 911 Turbo S go head-to-head in the May 2025 issue of evo India
Also featuring Manthey 911 GT3 RS which is now available in India, new VW Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Vellfire, updated BMW 3 Series LWB, finding out if the Kylaq is the spiritual successor to the VW Polo GT and an epic Porsche 917K poster;
With the India launch of AMG GT 63 confirmed for June, we take it for an epic drive and pitch it against its main rival from across the road in Stuttgart. The Mercedes-AMG GT63 majors on muscle, drama, and tech-laden swagger. The Porsche 911 Turbo S counters with surgical precision and everyday supercar pedigree. With matching torque figures and near-identical price tags, this isn’t just a numbers game — it’s a test of feel, character, and cross-country capability. From tidal causeways to rally-stage tarmac, the journey explores what separates a great GT from an all-time icon. Has AMG cracked the code? Or does Porsche still write the rulebook? The answer lies somewhere beyond the horizon.
Also in this issue are first drive reviews of the bonkers Manthey kit for the 911 GT3 RS which is now available in India at ₹1.4 crore. We head out on road trips with the new VW Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. We then lounge in the back of Toyota’s updated Vellfire and head back on the road with the 2025 model year BMW 3 Series LWB and Tata Tiago EV.
To find out if the Kylaq is the spiritual successor to the VW Polo GT, we pitch the two side by side to find if there’s a family DNA. And then kick off a new series called ‘Will it Drift’ with the mega BMW M5.
This month’s Icon in focus is the Nissan 350Z and the Buying Guide focuses on the Volkswagen Jetta. On two wheels, the new KTM 390 Enduro R is put through its paces and a good ol’ comparo answers the burning question – the KTM 390 Duke or Aprilia Tuono 457?
