Mercedes-Benz is set to launch two exciting AMG performance models in India — the AMG GT 63 and the AMG GT 63 PRO – on June 27. In fact, the GT 63 PRO will be making its first appearance in the country, as a more performance-focused version of the standard GT 63. Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming AMG duo.
Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and GT 63 PRO design
Both the GTs look very similar on the outside with the same dimensions and have a sporty yet practical design, thanks to their larger size and optional 2+2 seating layout. It features a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a sharply angled windscreen that make it look compact and powerful. The smooth body panels, flush door handles, and wide wheel arches give the cars a clean and muscular look. Both get an active rear spoiler built into the large tailgate. The overall shape, including the strong rear shoulders, gives the car a sporty feel. The rear design follows the same sporty theme. The sloping roof flows into a smooth rear end, and the strong shoulder line adds to its athletic stance. The LED taillights are slim, wide, and sit neatly within the rear, matching the front lights with the same three-dot signature and light animations. The car sits on 21-inch alloy wheels with yellow painted brake callipers.
The GT 63 is currently in its second generation and gets a wide AMG grille that stands out and gives the car a strong presence. The front bumper has a wide air intake for a sporty appearance, while the bonnet features bold power domes. The GT 63 PRO on the other hand gets an active aero package with a redesigned front apron, AMG carbon fiber exterior package with front splitters, diffuser and rear wing, 21-inch forged alloy wheels, ceramic high-performance composite brakes and black painted brake callipers.

The cockpit design is focused towards the driver in both the GTs. They come with AMG Performance seats with electronic adjustment and integrated headrest, a Nappa leather steering wheel with heating function, an 11.9-inch infotainment, digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting and a Burmester 3D sound system. They also get 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, active rear-axle steering and a locking differential as standard.
The AMG GT 63 comes with active ride control for improved handling and stability. It offers six drive modes – Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual, and "RACE" – allowing the driver to tailor the car’s behaviour to different driving conditions. The AMG GT 63 PRO adds a more aggressive and track-focused setup with high-performance composite brakes and black-painted brake calipers. It shares the same luxurious cabin as the GT 63.
Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and GT 63 PRO engine and performance
Both the AMG GT 63 and GT 63 PRO are powered by a 4-litre biturbo V8 engine paired to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox. In the GT 63, this engine produces 576bhp of power and 800Nm of torque. In terms of the performance figures, it can go from 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds and a 0-200kmph time of 11.4 seconds with a top speed of 315kmph offering strong performance and quick gear shifts.
The AMG GT 63 PRO, while using the same engine and transmission, has been tuned for even more power, producing 603bhp and 850Nm of torque which goes from 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds while 0-200kmph can be achieved in just 10.9 seconds with top speed of 317kmph for an even more thrilling driving experience.
