VinFast VF 7 electric SUV launched at a starting price of ₹20.89 lakh

VinFast, the Vietnamese electric automobile manufacturer, has just launched the VF 7 at ₹20.89 lakh, alongside the VF 6. It rivals the Mahindra XEV 9e and the Tata Harrier.ev. Let's deep dive to find out what the VF 7 has to offer.

2025 VinFast VF 7 styling

The VF 7 doesn't look radically different from the front as compared to the VF 6, with the model retaining the signature LED DRLs on both sides of the VinFast logo. The VF 7 gets brushed aluminium elements in the bumper and a flat unit that encompasses the headlight and turn signal. The VF 7 is 4.5meters long and has a 2,840 mm wheelbase, that is slightly larger than the VF 6.

On the side, you will notice that it rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, the Wind variant gets them painted in black. It also gets flush door handles that pop out when you unlock it. At the back the styling is a bit radical and gets vertical tail lamps with the signature end-to-end LED DRL elements on both sides of the VinFast logo. Down low are chrome elements just above the bumper. The prominent rear spoiler gives the VF 7 a sporty look.

The VF 7's interiors are dominated by the central infotainment system. It gets a clear view upfront courtesy, the lowered dash and omission of the driver's instrument cluster. All of the key information is moved to the central touch screen and the head-up display. The speed is displayed on the right-hand side of the central 12.9-inch infotainment screen. Behind the steering wheel, you get an attention alert sensor that will detect if the driver is drowsy. The Earth variant gets black and the Wind variant gets mocca brown vegan leather upholstery. VF 7 Wind Infinity and Sky Infinity variants add an edge-to-edge panoramic fixed glass roof to the list.

2025 VinFast VF 7 powertrain and tech

The VF 7 will be available with two battery packs and five variants. The VF 7 Earth comes with a 59.6 kWh battery pack with an ARAI certified range of 438km. Its motor produces 174bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. It will charge from 10% to 70% in just 24 minutes.

The VF 7 Wind will get a larger 70.8 kWh battery pack with an ARAI certified range of 532 km. Its PMSM motor enables it to produce 201bhp and 310 Nm peak torque, the claimed 0-100 kmph time is said to be 9.5 secs and charge 10-70% in 28 minutes.

All the features of VF 7 Wind plus a Dual motor setup generating combined

peak power of 260 kW and 500 Nm peak torque, this gives AWD capabilities to the car

and can touch 100 kmph in just 5.8 secs.

The VF 7 Sky gets all the features of the VF 7 Wind and adds a dual motor setup to the mix but loses out on range, 510km (ARAI certified). What it loses out on range it gains in horsepower, making 349bhp and 500 Nm of torque, with AWD capabilities propelling the VF 7 to a claimed 0-100 kmph in 5.8 secs.

As driver assist features it gets Adaptive Cruise Control along with full ADAS Level 2 suite including an advanced driver distraction warning with a driver monitoring system camera mounted on the steering.

As standard the VF 7 gets heated ORVM with auto dimming and memory functions, a C-Type 90 W USB port to charge electronic gadgets and even a dual zone AC. Auto LED projector Headlamps with auto levelling, signature lights in the front and rear, acoustic windshield and glass roof, reverse link ORVM, keyless entry and go, Auto AC, all windows auto up

and auto down with anti pinch. The VF 7 also gets bezel less auto dimming IRVM, ABS, EBD, BA, ESC, TCS, HSA, ROM, ESS, all disc brakes, rain sensing wipers, 7 airbags, TPMS, 360 degree SVM, cruise control, 12.9 inch infotainment screen, wireless AACP, 6 Speakers, multiple drive and regen modes as well as connected car tech.

2025 VinFast VF 7 Warranty and Colours

The VF 7 is available in 6 colours, Zenith Grey, Crimson Red, Jet Black Urban Mint, Desat Silver and Infinity Blanc. The VF 7 gets free charging till July at VGreens charging stations, free maintenance for three years and free curtain for the edge-to-edge panoramic roof.

The VF 7 gets 10 years or 2 lakh kms battery and vehicle warranty along with 24x7 RSA at 19,000+ pincodes.
