BMW launches the 530i M Sport in India at Rs 59.2 lakh

BMW has launched the 530i M Sport in India today at Rs 59.20 lakh (ex-showroom pan India). The car is locally produced at the company’s plant in Chennai and is BS-VI compliant. This the first time that petrol variant of the 5 series will get the M-Sport treatment in India. The BMW 530i M Sport goes up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Jaguar XF, Lexus ES 300h and the Volvo S90.

What’s new in the BMW 530i M Sport?

The 530i packs a 2-litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine that develops 244bhp and a peak twist of 350Nm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed steptronic sport automatic transmission and gets launch control as standard. The BMW 530i M Sport propels from a nought to 100kmph in 6.2 seconds. Driving modes include comfort, sport, sport+, eco pro and adaptive.

The M Sport package includes larger intakes in the front apron, diffuser style rear apron and side skirt trim. The car flaunts 18-inch M light-alloy wheels. The sporty treatment continues inside as well. The 530i gets leather sports seats and M-leather steering wheel. The brakes too are not spared from the M sport treatment and get the sporty blue calipers with M logo.

Other features on the BMW 530i M sport include the remote control parking function that allows the driver to maneuver the car in tight parking spaces from outside the car using the key. The sedan also get the contactless function to open the boot lid.

BMW also offers a M Sport version of the diesel variant, the 530d at Rs 66.20 lakh.
