MG Majestor debuts in India, creating a new D+ segment for itself
The MG Majestor makes its debut in India as JSW MG Motor India’s latest 7-seater offering, riding the coattails of the MG Gloster. This new model has created a new segment which MG calls as the D+ segment. It packs a ton of new kit and features, the highlights being triple-differential setup, M-Crawl mode and an 8-pattern seat massage function. To be offered with captain seats (6-seater) and full-bench (7-seater) configurations across three trim levels – Sharp 4x2, Savvy 4x2 and Savvy 4x4. Let’s take a closer look at everything that sets the Majestor apart in its segment.
2026 MG Majestor design
The MG Majestor carries forward the general proportions and silhouette of its predecessor, the Gloster with its body on frame boxiness, it however gets a new Mosaic Matrix grille which is big and imposing. The grille is flanked by sleek DRLs which MG likes to call Dragon eye, and vertically stacked split LED headlamps. In profile is where you’ll see the stark familiarity with MG’s former flagship, save for the new 19-inch machine-faced dual tone alloy wheels. The rear features an LED lightbar that looks similar to the one we’ve seen before in the MG M9. It also gets a beefy rear bumper that houses twin-exit exhaust tips (the MG Gloster had quad-exit pipes. It will be available in four colours – Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Grey and Metal Ash.
2026 MG Majestor interior and features
The MG Majestor’s cabin is where MG has gone all out. It gets a smoked ebony upholstery, ventilation and massaging functions in the front seats, panoramic sunroof, dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment screen and cluster, JBL Studio 12 sound system, a 360-degree parking camera, twin wireless chargers. iSmart+ app brings 75 connected car features with personalisation options such as custom widgets and colours, along with Reliance Jio integration for an expansive library of songs and podcasts. One of the key standout features is the digital key with Bluetooth sharing, which means you don’t need a physical key ever to drive it!

Storage spaces inside have also increased, thanks to the shifter that has been moved from the centre to the steering column now.The second row occupants have a 220V power outlet (yes, there’s a 3-pin socket), and two USB Type-A ports for charging and data transfer. Bootspace is plenty with 343 litres with the third row of seats in place, which goes upto 1350 litres when folded. On the safety front, it is equipped with 30 standard safety features including Level 2 ADAS, Hill-hold assist, Hill-descent control, and six airbags as standard.
2026 MG Majestor engine and 4x4 equipment
The MG Majestor gets a familiar powerplant, which we’ve seen before in the Gloster. A 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that makes 212bhp and 478Nm, and is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 4x4 variants get a 2H-4H-4L system which works in tandem with front, centre and rear locking differentials. To make the most of the specialist off-road hardware, there are 5 terrain modes – Normal, Sand, Rock, Mud and Snow. It gets an additional M-Crawl Mode that enables automatic throttle and braking. The water wading capacity of the MG Majestor stands at 810mm, which is 160mm more than the Mahindra Thar Roxx, 110mm more than the Toyota Fortuner, and 90mm less than the Land Rover Defender.
2026 MG Majestor availability and rivals
The MG Majestor’s prices have not been disclosed yet, and will be announced in April along with test drives, followed by deliveries in May.
