Mahindra has launched their much awaited Alturas G4 SUV at Rs 26.95 lakh while the top end variant costs Rs 29.95 lakh. The Alturas G4 is essentially a rebadged and slightly re-engineered Ssangyong Rexton G4 (4th generation) for Indian conditions.

The Alturas does look premium with HID headlamps on the front that also come with DRLs. There are LEDs on turn indicators and tail lamps and the SUV comes with plenty of chrome treatment. The window surrounds are garnished in chrome and the signsture Mahindra grille is also finished in chrome. The diamond cut alloys with 18inch tyres too look quite stylish. On the inside the Alturas G4 gets dual tone tan and black interiors with quilted nappa leather upholstery. Under the hood of the Mahindra Alturas G4 lies a 2.2-litre diesel engine that develops 178bhp and 420Nm of torque. It’s mated to a Mercedes sourced seven speed torque converter automatic transmission. It also has a 4WD system.

Moreover on the features front the Alturas G4 is loaded with plenty of new age techno-wizardry. There’s dual zone ac, 8-way electrically adjustabke driver’s seat with memory function, electric sunroof and ventilated front seats. More importantly there are quite a few segment first features. The Mahindra Alturas G4 is equipped with four cameras that offer a 360 degree view of the surroundings. There’s also a smart powered tailgate, where if you stand behind the tailgate with the keys in the pocket for three seconds, the tailgate automatically opens. The car also gets a 20.32cm touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Mahindra Altures G4 gets some top notch safety features. It gets nine airbags, including side, curtain and driver knee airbag, ESP and hill descent control.
