MG (Morris Garages) announced their all-electric SUV, the EZS. The company will be manufacturing the SUV at their plant in Halol, Gujarat

The pure EV will have a full-sized boot and can comfortably seat 5 passengers. The British brand is targeting an audience looking for an all-electric car but is also spacious while offering the same practicality of a compact SUV. There are no official specs out as to what motors and batteries the car will be using.

MG is all set to launch its first car the Hector in India this month and say that the EZS should be available by the end of this year. With the company’s efforts to increase localization, this electric SUV  will be priced competitively. The company appears to be testing the prototypes rigorously.

This is what Rajeev Chaba, president & managing director, MG Motor India had to say about the announcement-“The MG EZS, as one of the first locally produced global EVs, will mark a new chapter in environment-friendly mobility in India. We are delighted to be one of the first carmakers to enter this space in India. Aim to bring accessible electric motoring to the customers in India upon its introduction by the end of this year,”.

A video teasing the car’s assembly is on the brands YouTube channel.
