Skoda releases sketches of Vision iV concept

Ganesh Murthy

Skoda has revealed the sketches of the Vision iV concept, which will be the company’s next step towards electric mobility. Skoda says that it will invest two billion euros in the next four years in alternative drive systems and new mobility services. The brand will also introduce more than ten electrified models by the end of 2022.

The Vision iV will be based on the Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB) platform. The sketches show a wide grill with vertical ribs on the front fascia. It also gets a horizontal light strip in the upper part of the grille and large air intakes in the front apron. The rear features aerodynamic spoiler edges and C-shaped crystalline LED taillights, along with an LED light strip that runs above the diffuser for the full width of the vehicle. The Skoda lettering is also lit up in red, which looks cool. Wing mounted cameras replace the traditional mirrors and Skoda says that the housing design is inspired by shark fin. There are no door handles, so expect flush door handles in the concept car. The iVision will get 22-inch alloy wheels, further enhancing the sporty appeal. Overall, the Skoda iVision has a muscular stance with sharp features, flared wheel arches, and a sloping roofline.
