Toyota Innova Crysta production to continue alongside Innova HyCross

Team Evo India

Toyota has decided to retain the second-generation Innova, the Crysta, alongside the all-new third-gen Innova, the HyCross. The brand will continue to sell the extremely popular MPV although only in the diesel guise. This is the first time that the brand has decided to sell two generations of the same model in order to meet demand.

The new Innova HyCross will cater to those who are looking for petrol and hybrid options and the Innova Crysta will satisfy the diesel hungry consumers. And hence the manufacturer has axed out the petrol variant of the Innova Crysta. The brand had to halt production of the Innova Crysta, last year, and bookings of the MPV because of the chip shortage and supply chain problems. And due to strong demand still, Toyota has currently closed bookings for the Innova Crysta Diesel because of the long waiting periods. But it will open them soon and make the Crysta Diesel available to the public again.

Toyota has sold over ten lakh Innova in the Indian market, ever since its launch in 2005 and the MPV has been very popular in diesel guise because of the frugal and robust motor.
