Another important unveil set for June 2 after the 5 Series
BMW has released a teaser of the upcoming 4 Series on its social media handles. For now, we can only see the kidneys which stay true to the Concept 4 that was showcased at the Frankfurt motor show last year.
On the styling front, the second-gen 4 Series is expected to have horizontal LED headlamps, a decade-old rendition of BMW’s kidney grille and huge chiselled air vents. It is speculated that BMW initially will bring in a 430i and a M440i xDrive Coupe. Under the hood, the 430i would get a 2.0-litre engine that churns out 252bhp of power whereas the M440i xDrive Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre engine that produces 369bhp of power. The M440i will also feature a 48V mild-hybrid system. The M440i is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and there is no official statement if there will be a manual or not.
BMW will launch the second-gen 4 Series on June 2 at 09:30 PM IST and has provided a list of social media channels on its official website where one can witness the launch.
The revamped 4 Series after its official launch is all set to go up against the likes of its key-rivals like the Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and we look forward to how it stacks up against them all. BMW recently launched the 8 Series followed by the 5 Series and is now ready to launch the 4 Series as well.
