Lamborghini launches Urus Graphite Capsule in India

With the Urus Graphite Capsule, Lamborghini’s super SUV now gets stealthier looks

Lamborghini has launched the Urus Graphite Capsule in India, adding another layer of exclusivity and visual appeal to the already bonkers super SUV. The Urus Graphite Capsule will offer visual updates on the outside as well as inside, distinguishing it from the regular car. This edition of the Urus will also add an array of customisation possibilities for customers.

Design

The standard Lamborghini Urus was never a car that you would describe as plain-jane – quite the opposite in fact. The Urus Graphite Capsule takes that already distinctive design and ups the wow-factor a notch higher. Unlike the recently unveiled Pearl Capsule edition of the Urus with its gloss finishes, the Graphite Capsule takes a different route with matte paint and stealthy looks. The Graphite Capsule edition gets new exterior paint colours, such as white Bianco Monocerus, black Nero Noctis, grey Grigio Nimbus and Grigio Keres, with all shades sporting a matte finish. In addition to this, there are four accent colours on offer as well – an orange Arancio Leonis and Arancio Dryope, yellow Giallo Taurus and green Verde Scandal – which highlight the elements of the Urus, such as the front splitter, door inserts, rear spoiler and also the wheels.

The 23-inch Taigete wheels are exclusive to this edition as well. Moving to the rear, the Urus now features a black chrome finish, dedicated to the Graphite Capsule edition. And if that is not enough, the Urus Graphite Capsule offers more than 16 (!) different colour combinations, to cater the tastes of even the most discerning customers.

Interior

Step inside and you’re greeted by the familiar interior layout of the Lamborghini Urus, albeit with distinctive changes on the Graphite Capsule edition. You get dark anodized aluminium trim on the dashboard and door panels, with matte finish carbon fibre inserts present as well.

The exterior accent colours are carried over inside, being present in the contrast Q-citura stitching that is present around the cabin. It is no different from a typical Lamborghini cabin, with swathes of Alcantara. However, the Urus Graphite Capsule also gets ventilated Alcantara seats, an option that is exclusive to this variant, along with the recently launched Urus Pearl Capsule.

Engine

The Urus Graphite Capsule is mechanically unchanged from the standard car. Not that you would be lacking for power, with the 4-litre twin-turbo V8 making 642bhp and 850Nm of torque. Power continues to be sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Urus might be appearing stealthier now, but in no way has the super SUV given up its sportscar shaming performance; with 0 to 100kmph in 3.6 seconds and a top whack of 305kmph!

Pricing

With the regular Urus being priced around Rs 3.6 crore, you can expect the Graphite Capsule edition to be priced at 10 to 15 per cent premium. It wouldn't really matter though, because you cannot really justify buying a car that offers Huracan-like performance on the road and can still hold its own off the beaten track.
