Maruti Suzuki XL6 launched at Rs 9.79 lakh

The all-new Maruti Suzuki XL6 is a premium 6-seater MPV which will be available with a BS6 compliant K15 petrol engine with an option of automatic transmission.

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 has been launched with prices starting at Rs 9.79 lakh. Maruti Suzuki’s premium brand, Nexa will now have a sixth product in their portfolio with the launch of the much-anticipated XL6. The XL6 will be the first three-row offering under the Nexa brand. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 is a 6-seater MPV based on the HEARTECT platform compared to the 7-seater Ertiga. It will rival the Mahindra Marazzo and the Renault Lodgy.

Powering the premium MPV

Keeping up with the times, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 gets a BS6-compliant petrol motor under the hood coupled with a mild-hybrid system and a Lithium-ion battery. It is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder K15B petrol engine which develops 103bhp @6000rpm and 138Nm of torque @4400rpm. The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Inside the XL6

The 6-seater premium MPV gets captain seats in the second row, and all-black interior with stone finish and silver accents to add that premium touch. The stone finish is also carried onto the leather wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel. The seats are wrapped in all-black leather upholstery. The six-seater also gets captain seats in the second row with ample leg room. Adding to the utility, it gets ventilated cup holders, overhead console, accessory sockets in each row along with a rear AC. In the entertainment department, it features a 17.8cm touchscreen SmartPlay studio which can be connected to the smarphone using Bluetooth and SmatPlay Studio application. The system displays key vehicle information such as Low fuel alert and fuel economy.

The exterior and safety features

The exterior of the XL6 is a balance between bold and sporty. The raised hood, and cross-bar grille merges well with the sweeping Quad-LED headlamps. The XL6 comes fitted roof rails, stylish all-black 15-inch alloy wheels along with side-cladding that enhance the sporty design of the MPV.

Nexa’s premium MPV is based on the Suzuki’s 5th Generation HEARTECT platform and is compliant with all Indian safety regulations such as frontal offset impact, side impact and pedestrian protection. It get dual front airbags, ABD with EBD and ESP as standard across all variants. The automatic variant also gets a hill hold function as a standard feature.

The XL6 is priced at Rs 9.79 lakh for the Zeta MT (Manual) and Rs 10.89 lakh for the Zeta AT (Automatic). The top of the line Alpha MT will set you back Rs 10.36 lakh while the automatic is priced at Rs 11.46 lakh.
