Xiaomi India launches its new premium-mid range Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, starting at ₹33,999

Xiaomi India launched its latest Redmi Note series phones – Note 17 Pro 5G and Note 17 Pro Max 5G, priced from ₹33,999 and ₹44,999, respectively. The headlining feature is the significant bump-up in battery sizes with 9000mAh and 10000mAh carbon-silicon battery options as well as a segment-first 2m for 72 hours water submersion claim via IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings with a dedicated underwater shooting mode. That’s not all, the phones get 3m drop height protection certified by a 5-star quality rating from bodies like SGS and TÜV SÜD, which are globally renowned for independent testing and inspection. Xiaomi had invited Dalip Singh, a.k.a. ‘The Great Khali’ former professional wrestler and the first Indian-origin WWE World Champion as the mascot of live drop testing the new phones. Also showcased at the event were the latest Mijia (Xiao-mi + Jia ~Chinese for home) products like air purifiers and power banks with the promise of offering a more diverse lineup of smart home appliances soon. The Chinese OEM also showcased the Xiaomi SkyNomad, the brand’s first extended range EV. Here’s a first-look at everything from the show floor.

Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G

Design and features: It sports a 6.83-inch 1.5K, 12-bit AMOLED display with 120hz refresh rate and 3500 nits of peak brightness. The front has a 16MP camera and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with an 89.5 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The back pane features a satin and frosted finish with a slightly raised squircle-shaped island housing the 50MP main camera limited to 1080p video recording at 30FPS with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Octa-core 2.4GHz processor paired to a total of 16GB of RAM (8GB LPDDR4X physical + 8GB virtual). The Note 17 Pro packs a 9000mAh silicon-carbon battery with a claimed three and half days of battery-life, coupled with 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. And surprisingly, the 67W charging brick bundled with the phone. It also has enhanced water and dust ingress protection with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings – allowing underwater video recording in up to 2m of depth. Gets three colourways – Stealth Black, Purple Vibe and Cloud Blue.

Software and support: The Note 17 Pro is running Xiaomi HyperOS 3 on top of Android 16. It will receive a total of 10 years of software support (4 years of OS and 6 years security).

Price and availability: Offered in two storage configurations with an 8GB + 128GB (UFS 2.2) variant at ₹33,999 and an 8GB + 256GB (UFS 3.1) variant at ₹36,999 – available from September 17, 2026. It gets a bundled extended warranty covering of 2 years of screen protection, 2 years battery replacement and 2 years warranty.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G

Design and features: This model gains some features in addition to the Note 17 Pro like a bigger 10,000mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging from the included charger and 27W wired reverse charging. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Octa-core 2.6GHz processor paired to a total of 24GB RAM on the top variant (12GB LPDDR5X physical + 12GB virtual). Enhanced camera video recording capabilities from the same rear camera setup supporting 4K 30FPS and 1080p 60FPS of video recording, while the front camera gets upgraded 32MP also gets the same 4K and 1080p recording capabilities. Xiaomi has packed dual speakers with 400 per cent audio boost in the Note 17 Pro Max. Also gets three colourways – Stealth Black, Matcha Green and Secret Sunset.

Software and support: Same as the Note 17 Pro 5G.

Price and availability: Offered in two RAM configurations with an 8GB + 256GB (UFS 4.1) variant at ₹44,999 and a 12GB + 256GB (UFS 4.1) variant at ₹50,999 – available from September 23, 2026. Also gets the extended warranty bundled for free like the Note 17 Pro 5G.

This is Xiaomi’s sub-brand which caters to the world of smart home appliances such as TVs, air purifiers, vacuum cleaners and more. It was officially launched in August 2026 in India and has now introduced a plethora of new products like its next-gen air purifiers and power banks.

Xiaomi Power Bank 20000 165W

Its biggest model is priced at ₹4999 packs 20,000mAh battery with support of up to 165W of dual-port charging and 90W high-speed self charging. It also has a multi-menu colour digital display with various charging-related stats and gets 12 layers of structural protection.

Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000

Primarily designed with the latest iPhone 17s in mind, it’s priced at ₹5999. The 6mm thin, metallic casing packs a 5000mAh battery, capable of 15W Qi2.2 wireless charging and 22.5W wired charging. Also supports wired and wireless charging simultaneously. Gets 10 layers of structural protection.

Xiaomi Magnetic Power Bank 10000

Priced at ₹3999, it packs a 10,000mAh battery and delivers 25W of output as per Qi2.2 wireless charging standard, 45W of fast wired charging and 30W self charging. Additionally packs 13N magnets for a secure connection.

Xiaomi SkyNomad

Following the global launch on September 9 of Xiaomi’s foray into the extended range EV space with the SkyNomad SUV – Sudhin Mathur, COO, Xiaomi India introduced the Xiaomi SkyNomad SUV, which may come to India someday.
