Honda V3R 900 E-Compressor and WN7 Electric at EICMA 2025

At EICMA 2025, Honda turned heads with two groundbreaking unveilings that showcase its dual approach to the future of motorcycling with a high-performance internal combustion evolution and next-generation electric mobility. The new V3R 900 E-Compressor concept and the production-spec WN7 mark pivotal steps in both performance engineering and electric motorcycle design.

Honda V3R 900 E-Compressor Concept

Honda’s V3R 900 E-Compressor concept builds on the V3 engine platform unveiled last year. , The sophisticated electronic compressor system reshapes how forced induction works on motorcycles. Unlike a traditional crankshaft-driven supercharger, the electronic compressor operates independently, delivering a consistent performance boost across the rev range. By electronically spinning to compress intake air and increase density, it allows the 900cc V3 engine to perform like a naturally aspirated 1200cc motor.

Honda says this technology enables a level of responsiveness and torque delivery previously unseen in its mid-displacement lineup. The V3R 900 E-Compressor prototype embodies the brand’s continuing pursuit of innovation, aimed at giving riders a blend of instant thrust, refined control, and emotional connection. The company has confirmed ongoing development toward a production-ready model, signaling a new direction in performance motorcycling.

Honda WN7 Production Model

Sharing the stage, Honda also revealed the WN7, the brand’s first fully electric motorcycle in final production trim. The WN7 stands out with its radical frameless design, where the steering column, rear wheel, and swingarm are mounted directly to the aluminum battery casing and power unit. This approach helps minimize weight and achieve a lean, compact structure.

The WN7 is powered by a 67bhp electric motor delivering 100Nm of torque, offering performance comparable to a 600cc petrol motorcycle. Its 9.3kWh fixed lithium-ion battery supports both CCS2 fast charging and standard Type 2 AC charging. Honda claims a range of 140km in WMTC mode, with 20–80% fast charge in just 30 minutes.

Suspension and electronics are equally modern: Showa 43mm USD forks, a rear monoshock, lean-sensitive ABS, four riding modes (Standard, Sport, Rain, Econ), multiple traction control settings, regenerative braking, and an IMU-backed deceleration system. The 5-inch TFT display integrates turn-by-turn navigation, speed, efficiency, and charging data, while keyless ignition and crawl modes enhance convenience. At 217kg, the WN7 balances performance with everyday usability—representing Honda’s leap into electric two-wheelers designed for real-world versatility and technological sophistication.

The unlikely that the WN7 will come to India, considering it has been launched at a price of nearly ₹15 lakh in Europe. The V3R 900 E-Compressor concept showcases exciting new technologies that have previously not been seen on ICE motorcycles before.
