The Lamborghini Temerario has been launched in India

Lamborghini has launched the Lamborghini Temerario in India and prices for the super sports car start from ₹6 crore (ex-showroom). Like the Lamborghini Revuelto, the Temerario is powered by a hybrid powertrain and it packs in serious performance numbers – including a top speed of more than 340kmph! Read on to know more about the Lamborghini Temerario.

The Lamborghini Temerario is powered by a hybrid powertrain that consists of a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and three electric motors

Lamborghini Temerario powertrain and performance

As with any Lamborghini, we must first talk about the engine and the performance of the Temerario. Lamborghini’s latest offering is powered by a hybrid powertrain that consists of a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and three electric motors. The V8 engine by itself produces a peak power output of 789bhp, while each of the three electric motors produce a power output of 147bhp. The way that the hybrid powertrain works is that the V8 engine powers the rear wheels and is assisted by an electric motor that sits compactly between the engine and the 8-speed DCT. This motor works as a torque gap filler, while the remaining two electric motors drive the front axle when all-wheel drive is required. The front e-axle of the Temerario also supports torque vectoring. Together, the V8 engine and the electric motors produce a combined system output of 907bhp. The Temerario can accelerate from 0-100kmph in a claimed time of 2.7 seconds, accelerating all the way to a top whack of 343kmph.

Take one look at the Temerario and it is instantly identifiable as a Lamborghini

Lamborghini Temerario design

Lamborghini claims that the Temerario is a clean-sheet design, but take one look at the car and it is instantly identifiable as a Lamborghini, thanks to its silhouette. With short and compact overhangs and a bold shark nose, the Temerario continues to sport the design DNA seen on other Lamborghini models. You get hexagonal-shaped LED DRLs, and the hexagonal shape itself is seen in other design elements of Temerario too, such as the side air intakes, taillights and the exhaust pipe. Aerodynamic elements have also been integrated into the design which include a wide diffuser and a roof with a rearward offset profile which directs the air directly on the Temerario’s integrated rear wing. The Lamborghini gets 20-inch alloy wheels at the front and 21-inch alloy wheels at the rear, and potential customers will be happy to know that the Temerario can be had with over 400 body colour and livery options through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customisation program. This will also be the first time that a Lamborghini will be offered on sale with the ‘Alleggerita’ (lightweight) package for customers who intend to take their Temerario to the racetrack.

The interior design of the Temerario is said to be inspired by that of an aircraft cockpit

The interior design of the Temerario is said to be inspired by that of an aircraft cockpit, and materials such as carbon, leather and Corsatex by Dinamica suede used throughout the interior. You get new electrically adjustable sports seats as standard, while the carbonfibre double-shell sports seats and 18-way adjustable comfort seats with heating and ventilation are available as an option. The newly-developed steering wheel also gets optional carbon elements and on the left side of the steering wheel is a red-crowned rotor which is used to select the driving modes. You get an 8.4-inch infotainment screen mounted on the centre console while the driver gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in the Temerario. For the first time, you also get a 9.1-inch passenger display. Thanks to a new spaceframe chassis, Lamborghini also claims that the Temerario offers more interior space than its predecessor – the Lamborghini Huracan – with headroom increasing by 34mm and legroom increasing by 46mm.
