Ford has announced a 2019 GT Heritage Edition that will sport the famous and highly recognizable Gulf Oil livery. The limited edition supercar was unveiled at the Rolex Motorsport Reunion at the Laguna Seca track in California.

The Heritage Edition was revealed alongside two generations of the Ford GT wrapped in the same Gulf livery sporting their competition numbers. The numbers are not painted, but expose the carbon fibre body shell. The Heritage Edition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Gulf-liveried GT40’s win at the Le Mans 24 hours.

The powertrain remains unchanged in the Heritage Edition. It is still powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 638bhp. There is no change in  the performance specifications, essentially the supercar only gets the Gulf paint and interior scheme.

It also features exposed carbonfibre A-pillars, 20-inch forged aluminium wheels, orange brake calipers and silver caps on the rear view mirrors. The interiors have also been given a sporty treatment, with Gulf-themed blue and orange stitching for the seats and steering wheel. The seats, steering wheel, instrument panel and headliner are wrapped in ebony alcantara fabric. The door sills also have exposed carbon fibre while the centre console is finished in matte.
