Lexus showcased its six-wheeled Luxury Space (LS) concept at the Japan Mobility Show 2025
Lexus’ recent reinvention, a new concept vehicle at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, is part of its LS line. The vehicle is a six-wheel luxury vehicle that looks very different from what we usually expect from Lexus cars. LS has always stood for Luxury Sedan, but now, the company is calling it Luxury Space, suggesting that we can expect a lot more than just sedans in the luxury segment.
The six-wheel Lexus LS concept features a striking exterior design that differs significantly from traditional cars. The vehicle has a squared, angular shape that emphasizes its large size and commanding presence. Its design is quite bold, with a very boxy and unapologetically huge appearance. The front end includes an LED-heavy grille and a windshield that extends all the way up to the bumper, giving it a seamless look. The absence of a traditional bonnet and outside mirrors adds to its futuristic style. On the sides, it has enormous front wheels with deep-dish rims illuminated from the center, and two sets of smaller rear wheels also lit up, contributing to a balanced yet dramatic look. Sliding rear doors with slatted windows allow access to the cabin, and the vehicle features a wraparound LED light bar at the rear, along with large LED taillights and ‘Lexus’ lettering illuminated on the tailgate. The overall exterior is designed to maximize space and comfort, with a focus on stability and a commanding road presence.
This six-wheel van is designed to give a lot of space inside. The inside is more like a comfortable lounge than a regular car. It has seats that can recline and rotate. It also gets slatted bamboo screens for privacy. These features make it feel more like a moving room where passengers can relax. The doors are large and open electrically, making it easy to enter and exit. The front area features a cockpit similar to traditional cars. The vehicle fits with Lexus’s move toward more eco-friendly models. The addition of six wheels instead of the usual four adds extra stability and space, which is helpful given its large size. The whole purpose of this design is to give you a home away from home feeling.
This Lexus LS concept shows the brand trying out new ideas. It is moving away from the usual sedan shape and exploring luxury in new ways. While it may not reach production soon, it gives a hint of what Lexus thinks the future of comfortable travel might look like. The six-wheel van is unique, focusing more on spaciousness and comfort rather than speed or sportiness. The concept opens up new possibilities for the LS name beyond traditional cars.
